Welcome to the Hudson Legion Curling Club’s Web site and home page. I was asked if I would be interested in being the president of the curling club for the 2008/09 year. After much thought, I accepted the position. It’s going to require a lot of work, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.I’ve been curling at the Legion for four years now after coming back to the game from a long absence. I had curled back in the late 70’s and early 80’s, and started out curling in the Lacolle Curling Club. I was also a member of some other clubs during that time. Hudson Legion and Lacolle share some similarities, both are two sheet clubs, but better yet are the people who play in the clubs. Curling in a smaller club brings people closer and I think this makes for a stronger club with people willing to help out when it’s called for. I see a lot of opportunity for Hudson Legion and the Curling club in general. We do need to bring up the membership levels and attract new curlers to the game. We also need to think about the future of the curling club and how we can make improvements on what we already have. I see a long future for this club, and its members will never let it fail. Besides, I’m looking forward to joining the Hardy Rocks some day. Here’s to a great season, have fun and keep smiling. LET’S CURL !
